There are places that make barrels for handguns you may already own. I had a bushingless bull barrel made for my 1911 by Bar-Sto. It was not cheap but is really nice. Sig sells drop in barrels for most of their pistol lines too. I think CZ is making threaded barrels too now. I am also looking at a new .45 host and am down to a choice between HK45 & Sig P227. :dunno:

 

Factory ready, Sig P227 is available with suppressor height sights and threaded bbl, and the XDm is supposed to be as well, though I haven't seen one yet.

 

Sig 1911 tac ops. Remington 1911 there are a few. I have the sig tac ops and like it. Comes with 4 mags night sights and i have done 300 rnd run on the pistol with no issues. The only time i stopped was to reload mags. These were aimed shots not fast mag dumps. It was very dirty obviously but not hard to clean. I like the fn that has the panel to put the dot sight on. I chose the 1911 just because it fit my hand better.

I have an ATI FX-45-K tactical 1911 with the threaded barrel. It is a 3.5 inch barrel. It is a good and dependable. I have put several hundred rounds through mine and no issues. Edited to add photo. I have replaced the grips with MagPul grips that have the thumb cutout. () - edit to add silencer detail. Ti-Rant45 but I have multiple pistons and use on my Glock 17 9mm or a 40 caliber

HK45 & Sig P227 & FNX 4 Tactical were the three I have been looking at. Wanted to see who has owned and shot these guns. I have considered a barrel for one of my 1911s but that is like putting a moon roof in your car. Why...when it gives me a reason to buy a convertible .

I held a FNX today too and it just didn't feel right to me. That's why I posted this. I need to go hold a Sig. I am not in a rush, because I just sent in the paper work. Triangle Shooting will be a big Sig seller and I will be able to try it out before buying. Never owned a Sig before.

But nothing looks nicer than a 1911...except a 1911 with a can. Can you see over the suppressor with the sights?

 

I use the same can on another pistol as well and cannot see over the can with either. But it really doesnt matter because as long as you can see the front sight, you can still put the dot on target. Kind of like looking thru it. You will see when you get yours. Its not a problem at all.

 

It has bigger sights on it. Like Partsfreak said, using the front sight isn't an issue. I am fairly accurate with it.

If you can still find one the Para 1911 Black Ops TB is a good option. Threaded and suppressor sights. I think it's available in single of double stack.

I have 2 of the FNX tacticals (one black and 1 FDE) and have shot both suppressed (osprey) and non supressed. They are really great shooting guns. Trigger is not as nice as a 1911, but feels like most good DA/SA polymer gun trigger. Stippling is a bit rough, but helps stay in hand very well. My favorite thing on there is the micro optic and the tall iron sight to co-witness with. Just haven't decided whether I like the RMR triangle or dot more.

Nice. They came out with the "m" after I bought my TiRant. Get an oven mitt. It will get hot. Mine loosens up sometimes after awhile. You want to keep it tight. You will only grab it bare handed once. :crying:

 

I'm a huge HK fan and HK USP 45 Tatical is a great host. Now that being said I love the FNX 45 Tatical. Great gun. Or a HK Mark 23 ... loved it but was offered way to much for it so will get another some day.

Both make my socks roll up and down…
