--------------

I joined this Club today. The range is just South of Goldboro on NC 581.
This is a nice range for just about any shooting you can think of short of NFA firing ( I could
be wrong on that ). They do have an area where you can rapid Fire and Hip shooting. The Owner and RO's seems like good people and are helpful. The Range is affiliated with CMP.

I paid $140 for 14 Months. The CHP class is $30 for members and $50 for non-members. I spent 5 hours there and had a Great time!..........................................

Update: You can Live Fire NFA Guns as long as you make prior arrangements..............................

My mom took her CHP class there yesterday. She said they had her shoot one handed with both hands, from the holster, and from low ready. Though, they still only shot at 3, 5, and 7 yards, and I believe only 30 rounds, it was still more involved than my range qualification, which was just shooting however we wanted.

I'm heading over there Tuesday or Wensday and signing up for their next class.......................

I pass this place on the way to my hunting spot in Seven Springs. I've caught a glimpse of it in passing, but not really given it much thought. I'll definitely have to give it a closer "look-see!" Thanks for the heads up, Chief!

I'll have to say that between the Owner, RO's and the Range itself, I felt comfortable. Not too Sterile and not too rustic. Seems like when I was shooting at WT's, My mind was always thinking about the clock and I think it was affecting my shooting. The 5 hours there went pretty fast and I burned up quite a bit of Ammo ( That's alright, back to the reloading bench!). My shooting improved quite a bit too. Just one thing less to think about, that damn clock.

A couple of things I want to add is, Targets are bought under the Honor system. You donate what ever you want or afford into a Red Ammo can. They also supply Rifle rest, spotting scopes, eye and hearing protection and Holsters, No Charge. How cool is that!................................

I can understand about "watching the clock" when that is how range time is budgeted. It certainly makes a membership seem more sensible.

How long is their rifle range? That is the biggest annoyance with shooting indoors - though it never rains...

The Rifle ranges are 100 and 275 yds. ENCFIRINGRANGE is all out doors and no matter if your a member or not, there is no time limit on any of the ranges, including the Pistol Booths. WT's is the Indoor range, 25 yards max.....................................

Thanks, didn't read close enough. They are about half the price of range 37, but about 20 miles farther.

Sorry Bob, I just saw this. I haven't actually been there, but I believe it's about 15-20 minutes outside of Goldsboro, so probably in the neighborhood of an hour.

It's not far off the south end of the runway at Seymour Johnson AFB. I bet it's pretty interesting around there at times. :usa:

I miss the B-52s :(

Edit: My bad, looking at the map again, it's on the downwind leg of the approach pattern..at about the midpoint of the runway still directly due south

I'm a member. A work in progress. They've made some changes recently, relocated the plate rack, added some partitions to the rifle bay to separate the shooting positions, restrooms.

RE: ENC firing range

Best place to shoot in the area that that I have been to. The staff is among the friendliest there can be and the owner Ken is a super nice guy. A member on here brought me out one (fromxtor) and I had such a good time out there. He also has GREAT membership rates and discounts for LEO/active duty military. His CCW class is a very good price as well. All in all, a great group/range to go shooting at.

Chief, this has nothing to do with the range, but your moniker instead. I like it, and suspect Josey Wales would get a chuckle out of it too.
