Fuquay Gun is in my opinion the best gun shop in my area, and definitely worth the drive down from Raleigh. Their selection is WAY bigger than any other shop that I have been to in the area, and the staff is very friendly. Firearm prices are the best that I have seen as well.

When they were in their old location they were very nice .Clay and Missy were very friendly and gave good deals. One of them always said "Thank you ,we appreciate you". I shopped there at least once a month and spent several thousand dollars with them in two years.I drove 65 miles one way to go there and highly recommended them to my friends and family. Then about a year before they moved their attitude seamed to change When I walked in they hardly spoke and did not say thank you when I left after spenging $200. I went there twice more after that .Same unfriendly attitude from Clay and Missy. The employee's were ok ,But the owners were very rude. That was my very last trip to their store .Clay actually said Hello at a gun show and had the nerve to ask me where had I been.I gave him the same treatment ,Turned my head and kept walking.I guess they thought they had the market covered in that area. All I can say is SOVEREIGN GUNS is in FUQUAY and I will NEVER go back in FUQUAY GUN again and would not recommend them to anyone .Several people that I know got the same treatment that I got and the to have not gone back either .Sovereign also gets their business!!!!!!!!
WOW, I am sorry to hear that! I spend a couple hours each week going over the different forums to read how folks are feeling about us and how we are performing. It is rare that I read something like this but I am very thankful you posted it. It reminds me that there is always room for improvement. One year before we moved was the Obama Gun Run and we not only had to hire several new employees but I had to spend much more time running the business letting my guys run the counter. I am sorry you felt unappreciated and I mean that! I like for all of my clients to know I understand without them there is no Fuquay Gun & Gold. The most enjoyable part of owning this store is dealing with so many people and unfortunately the more we grow the less time I get to spend with my clients. I have what I consider to be the BEST Gun Shop Team there is though and if we can help you please let us know, otherwise Thank You for the feedback and your business past and hopefully future.

Thank You[hr]

The reason for this is probably that Glock offers the armorer classes to local FFL dealers and their employees, not just police. So they're probably all certified with Glock, which makes it so they can tinker with them and not void any warranties still in place since Glock recognizes them. Smith & Wesson only gives their armorers class to LEO and military - or at least that was the case the last time I inquired about it. So they may not feel comfortable doing it, or they don't want the liability of voiding a warranty, which isn't hard to do.
That's an angle I hadn't thought of, thanks!

I'm not sure if that's the reason they get all googly-eyed when the word "Glock" is mentioned but something is definitely up with it lol. I swear, the couple times I've been there you could hear a pin drop when you mention any other brand but when you whisper "Glock" it's like a switch is turned on and the whole place livens up complete with dancing girls and a salsa band coming through the door. I chalked it up to the people there being rabid Glock fans, which is not a bad thing really. Everyone has their pet brands :)

But, I can't say I've caught any of the bad attitude stuff yet. The times I've been there I've been treated with respect and with a friendly attitude, but I haven't been there in a while though.
Thanks for the support guys! I will give you a peek into the minds of me and my guys. We do love Glock and the reason is we have sold thousands literally and we have only seen problems with a handful. That means our customers are happy and will come again and come often for more Glocks. There are many MFG that make good guns but also make some bad ones. For Example Springfield Xd and XDM are great products and we rarely see problems out of them however we do have some problems out of other guns that Springfield makes. Smith M&P is awesome but some other Smiths not so much. I could go on and on. Glock is not going to make a cheaper version of its gun to just to sell guns. I shoot Glocks amd most of my guys shoot Glocks and it sure is easy to sell what you believe in. I teach that to all of my guys, preach what you practice in other words tell the customer what your experiences are good bad or indifferent. There are tons of GREAT guns out there that we dont have many problems out of but most of my guys do like their Glocks. FYI we now have sight presses for most pistols, and we are now Smith & Wesson Armors as well. we still install most items free, that are purchased from us.

Thanks for your business and feed back[hr]

Well hello and welcome to NCGO!

I'm glad you stopped in and decided to come aboard. It's always great to see store owners and vendors be a part of our family. :NCGO:

I've been to your store several times and can say I've always been treated well. I would only change one thing- that you'd move to Fayetteville lol. Thanks for being a great store and for your support of veterans and our service members in terms of discounts and in other ways that you support them. It means a lot :)

I can understand the affinity for a particular brand. For me it's S&W first but you're right- with some of their ventures into the auto-pistol market, they certainly skimped on quality in favor of getting something out to the market faster (cough cough Sigma cough). With the M&P line, they took a step back, stole the ideas that were working for other companies, came up with a few new ones, and came back to the market with a vengeance. Smiths thing is revolvers and when they made their big jump into plastic guns, they kind of shot themselves in the foot. I'm glad they took the time to come up with a line that worked with the M&P.

I can say one thing, if and when I ever decide to add a Glock to my collection, I'll be making the trip to Fuquay to get it. There's simply no way to beat your prices, after sales support, and enthusiasm for the brand. A couple of my friends and co-workers will go only to your store for their purchases. In fact, one of them is heading your way in the next few days to check your prices on Springfield's Range Officer that we've both been looking at.

Keep on doing what you do and I think you'll be around for a long long time. Thanks for being accessible and for heaven's sake, don't feel like you'll have to be all about the business here. Come on back anytime and join in the fun. We'd love to have you posting on a regular basis in many different areas here.

Welcome again to the best online home and resource for North Carolina's gun owners.

A couple of months ago they ran a special on TFO TruGlo's for $79.95 installed. What a great price plus their prices on mags are quite reasonable. Good place to visit.

I have been there many times. I have several friends that I have taken to the store. Not one time have we ever had a bad experience or have seen anybody else have a bad experience.

While there maybe somebody who has had a bad experience you have to take that in context since you yourself were not there to witness the event and the circumstances of the event.

the bottom-line is that there are a great number of people who highly rate the store and it's employees and there are very few cases of bad experiences. You can't say that about too many stores in this region.

Fuquay Guns, I am glad to see your post. I am definately a pro-Fuquay Guns guy. I have purchased 3 guns from you in the last 8 months. Yes, two of them were Glocks, but I also picked up my Kahr CM9 from your store. Shawn was great and his advise coincided with a lot of my personal research regarding the Kahr purchase. I felt that he was truly giving his opinion and it came over as non-biased. The price was competitive with other stores and even online options (like Bud's).

One other point. When I was looking for my Glock 26 Gen4 and they were kind of hard to find, Clay (sorry I called you Cliff in the original post, old age is really catching up with me) called me personally to let me know when he had some in stock. I really appreciated the heads-up.

Thanks for showing up and weighing in!

Welcome to NCGO!! We really appreciate hearing from you! I have been in your store several times, and on a weekend no less when your busy and have always had A+ service and seen great prices. That's very good news to hear about you becoming a S&W armorer as i will definitley be needing to purchase a set of trijicon night sights sometime in the next 2 months and will need them installed as well. Look forward to seeing you around the forum more, and thanks for your great service you offer!

Just to let everyone know ,I received an apology from Clay at Fuquay gun buy way of a pm for the way I was treated at his old location.I replied to him telling him I don't hold a grudge against him and wished him well in his new location. But his inbox was full and he cannot receive any PM's.But I still won't shop there.I live 65 miles from his store and pass by 7 different stores between my house and his shop.As for Glocks I can buy a new one for $429 with 3 mags from LE dealer in Raleigh.Perks of being a cop !:D

Sorry I missed your PM I had several folks from this site thanking me for joining and for our store. And just so everyone can see it I am sorry you came into our store and didn't feel appreciated by me and my wife but we do thank you for your business and wish you well with your new stores and I am very happy that they give you awesome customer service and appreciate you.

Thanks to a very large and loyal customer base we are still growing every month, this has allowed me to hire 8 salesmen for our counters. It is the responsibility of each of the guys to let every customer know we appreciate them and we all know where our pay checks come from. I don't get to spend as much time on the sales counter as I would like because I am busy running the business, but just because I am not there doesn't mean that I don't appreciate each and every one of you, we thank you.

For the record we are a Glock Perfection Dealer and we do Sub D Glock sales to LE Military EMS, Firefighters, GSSF and more at a slightly cheaper price than what was noted by Mr Sigfan. This is one of the many things we do in our store to attempt to show our appreciation.

Thank all of you for your business and all the emails phone calls and visits to our store! I sit back and read these different sites in order to see how we are doing in your eyes and how we can do things better. The only way I can get this true picture is to stay in the shadows, so that is where I will be. Thank yall for all the positive feedback and even the negative. I will chime in if needed. Thanks guys and gals.

They are without a doubt the place to go for Glocks. The store oozes Glock from the minute you walk in, almost to the point of making you feel a little odd if you're not there for a Glock. That's just my feeling though, most likely because I'm not too keen on Glocks....

I used to go them a lot at their old location, when they were at the run down strip mall. Great staff and if I remember right, they are Toyota guys! They had moved into their new building shortly before i moved to Cali. The new building is a huge improvement over the old shop...much bigger and more stuff! I went to their new store just before I moved and purchased a Glock 19. I was loading up on handguns before the move, since we have this retarded "list" of approved guns we have to abide by in Cali. They will be one of the first shops I visit anytime I return to NC to visit friends and family.

I must be a black sheep - I picked up my S&W M&P 40 Pro from Fuquay, and hour away from home because the respect and information I received from Clay. No brand snobbiness that people have reported about other shops. When I got there, the staff was very friendly and helpful during the check out process. My only complaint... store hours because I live so far ;)
Any time I happen to be in the area, I think I'll stop buy to at least pick up some ammo (very reasonable compared to online shops).

Fuquay Gun and Gold is indeed one of the best shops around. I go there first when I want to shop for something. However, if I buy a weapon from budspolicesupply.com, I have it shipped to Sovereign guns, a few blocks north of Gun and Gold. Soveriegn charges $15 for FFL transfer. Gun and Gold is $25.
Why would you buy from BUDS? You should always check with your local shops first sometimes they can match or even beat the price. Buds is ruining the gun market. Plus they can not help you with any problems you have. People buy a gin online and have problems and the think the local shops will help or should help. But just one Fat Guys opinion to each his own. Just think twice before buying a gun online

I just found Fuquay Gun and Gold over the weekend and, from the moment I walked in, they were far nicer and more helpful than the LGS on Tryon was. I'll be going there for all my future purchases moving forward. Clay was the person I dealt with.
