So,...........It's a great day in paradise where every day is a holiday and, every meal's a feast :D

This morning, I slept in after 4am which is unusual for me.

I saw on the news Dianne Warwick was down to her last 1000 and owed 10million in taxes.
I remember when she did a charity appearance back in the day and charged the charity twice what they brought in for the appearance.

Do I feel sorry for her not being able to live like an elite any longer? NO

It was brought to my attention that she was Whitney Houstons aunt.
Now I really don't follow the Hollywood scene but what crossed my mind was this.

Well Whitney is not going to have to ever worry about this problem. She's dead. No problems.

I have been behind on my work. Car, the only one left running at the moment is leaking at the water pump now. The fuel door wouldn't open "switch" and I had to cut through the trunk liner to get to the actuater to open it.
I could go on and on whining about all the problems I have but I won't.

I have embraced them. They let me know I am still alive. If I have problems it's good. When I don't have problems any longer, I'll be dead.
What doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Marines been saying that long before the song.
Any day above ground is a good day

So, I say to you, these minor life issues are a blessing. When you go and deploy to a hostile foreign land, it's the small things that we take for granted that you miss.
Oh yea, my riding mower is broke now too. oh, joy, ughhh. another blessing :hilarious:

So, I thought well, I have been swapping sights and optics around. I need to zero the TR21R Trijicon and rezero the Matech flip up BUIS.

I went out when the sun rose. I shot and made adjustments to the iron sights until my quarter sized groups were in the center. It was fun. As long as I've been shooting, I was tickled.
Then I did the same with the old TR21r that I had got from FrontLine Defense some time ago.
That sight is sweet! I was thinking "On a Wednesday cold March morn, could a man have more fun than this?!!!:)

So, I decided I needed to run a couple mags through my Glock for practice. It's been awhile.

I moved way on up to the 15 yard line.
I shot some Mags through my RIA 1911, rapid action drills from not looking to look and draw.

I had a new Ruger SR1911 Magazine that performed flawlessly. The ACT-MAG that came with the gun kept hanging on chambering the last round. I hate issues but at least I know it's the Magazine.

Then I shot the Glock and it performed flawlessly as expected! The G23 is awesome and is usually my carry pistol.

I then shot a Smith and Wesson Stainless 65-4 that I picked up cheap at an out of the way little gun shop.
This was the first chance I've had to shoot this one. Ooooooo, It is so sweet and i was tickled with happiness. I didn't want to stop shooting but I went through a box of ammo so I knew it was time to wrap it up.
Most of my shots were on target and none were off the pizza box.

So, what are guys up to today?

The GLOCK now has TruGlo TFO night sights not shown, which I absolutely love!!!

Not really, today was a BS day. I about half way through I was praying for an ER x-ray to go down, to free me from the 7th circle of hell that is paperwork.

The 7th circle? :hilarious:

It's a regular Dantes Inferno down there :D

I know what you mean though. I hate paperwork too.

I went to work.

My day started out like any other. Got up, got dressed and brewed up enough coffee to fill up Bubba. Bubba is a big coffee mug. I do believe the official size of the mug is "big ass." Anyway, hop in the daily, and scoot on down US1. I slide into Franklin County only to be stopped by a school bus, which had one potential occupant decide she didn't want to go to school, so she stopped next to the bus and made the whole damn working world wait until her Hollywood pissy-fit subsided. I swear I wanted to yell at her like that dude on Full Metal Jacket.

I arrive at work about 10 minutes late, and get the lamest scolding ever. Yay for me on being punctual. At a few minutes after 9, I text my wife and ask her to bring the Expedition to one of our stores in Wake Forest to check the air. She did. She heads to Durham after that. I get a phone call a few hours later from that store informing me that the truck needs tires in a bad way. I ask why they didn't tell my wife and put some on. I get silence. So, wife drives from Durham to Knightdale so I can slap new rubber on there. Brand? Yokohama. I'm a fanboy.

So, I drive home and stop by ye ole merry Advance and get some parts for my F150. Brake lines and a new gear to fix the driver's side window. Now I am sitting here, drinking a Barq's Rootbeer because it's the best rootbeer in the world ever anywhere now matter what you say because you know I am telling the truth.

I save the coolest for the lastest. About 5, a guy comes in strapped with a Glock. Jealous am I. I ask about it. He bought it from a neighbor. The pistol, five mags and 300 rounds for $500. Glock 36? I think it was. I forget because I am jealous, remember? Cool guy. Talked it up. Told him about NCGO. Hopefully he pops in and says hey.

That's what I did today.

Today I fought with the snooze from 5:30 until 6 am, stumbled to the kitchen table where my wonderful wife had placed Dayquil, vitamins and coffee, then drove 32 miles to work, got my truck and permit and headed to Winston Salem to do this,
Image

Then returned to the shop and did paperwork, fuel reports and logs, then shoveled about a yard and a half of mud off another excavator for a Monday delivery, found out Friday is a paid holiday and will only work until noon Thursday to get my 40 hr.s. Weather forecast is for warmer temp.s, things are looking up, now if I can only shake this blasted sinus infection/cold/:poop:

You owe it to yourself to try Uncle Scott's Root Beer made here in NC. Google unclescottsrootbeer.com to find a store in your city which carries it. None in Henderson, four in Raleigh, one of which is Whole Paycheck...I mean Whole Foods. Try it, you'll like it

Up since 4:30am.

At work now and packing up stuff to send to someone here for a care package (damned if I can remember to whom right now, gotta read my PM).
Working till 10:30am then off till Monday.
Racin' go-karts with the guys from work at 12p.
Going to go up to see what's going on at FLD's place this afternoon...he said I'd feel right at home - just standing around like a State employee. :)
Supposed to ride this afternoon for 75min and do some intervals during that time. Fun, eh? :)

Getting ready for work. Got my butt reluctantly out of bed at 06:40 again this morning, yay. Already had my salad container washed, so I packed my lunch in record time. Apparently my nose is/was bleeding a bit from having the heat on, and it running most of the night. And my back isn't worse, and is hurting in a different way, now that we spun the mattress around where I'm sleeping where Canti's feet were and he's sleeping where my feet were. Going to swing by RAC tonight and arrange to get a new mattress from his aunt (she's the store manager in Shallotte)-- yet another unflippable mattress, which bothers me, but there's no way we can save up for a better one any time soon. And this way, we get a new mattress delivered Saturday, and can pay it off in 90 days.

the piss ants? lol what do you mean?
Little itty bitty ants (my Dad always called them "piss ants", never asked why) that will show up everywhere!! I think the hotel I was at for the bike ride was infested with them. Everywhere and will get into ANY thing left open that might be somewhat edible....

See the little tiny things all over the pizza?? :puke:

Yea, they bite too.

And, it wasn't just food. They were all over the dang bathroom too. And crawling on the walls...
If I do that bike ride again, I'm for sure not staying at that hotel again...even if I could just walk right out from my room to the swimming pool...
