So,...........It's a great day in paradise where every day is a holiday and, every meal's a feast :D

This morning, I slept in after 4am which is unusual for me.

I saw on the news Dianne Warwick was down to her last 1000 and owed 10million in taxes.
I remember when she did a charity appearance back in the day and charged the charity twice what they brought in for the appearance.

Do I feel sorry for her not being able to live like an elite any longer? NO

It was brought to my attention that she was Whitney Houstons aunt.
Now I really don't follow the Hollywood scene but what crossed my mind was this.

Well Whitney is not going to have to ever worry about this problem. She's dead. No problems.

I have been behind on my work. Car, the only one left running at the moment is leaking at the water pump now. The fuel door wouldn't open "switch" and I had to cut through the trunk liner to get to the actuater to open it.
I could go on and on whining about all the problems I have but I won't.

I have embraced them. They let me know I am still alive. If I have problems it's good. When I don't have problems any longer, I'll be dead.
What doesn't kill me makes me stronger. Marines been saying that long before the song.
Any day above ground is a good day

So, I say to you, these minor life issues are a blessing. When you go and deploy to a hostile foreign land, it's the small things that we take for granted that you miss.
Oh yea, my riding mower is broke now too. oh, joy, ughhh. another blessing :hilarious:

So, I thought well, I have been swapping sights and optics around. I need to zero the TR21R Trijicon and rezero the Matech flip up BUIS.

I went out when the sun rose. I shot and made adjustments to the iron sights until my quarter sized groups were in the center. It was fun. As long as I've been shooting, I was tickled.
Then I did the same with the old TR21r that I had got from FrontLine Defense some time ago.
That sight is sweet! I was thinking "On a Wednesday cold March morn, could a man have more fun than this?!!!:)

So, I decided I needed to run a couple mags through my Glock for practice. It's been awhile.

I moved way on up to the 15 yard line.
I shot some Mags through my RIA 1911, rapid action drills from not looking to look and draw.

I had a new Ruger SR1911 Magazine that performed flawlessly. The ACT-MAG that came with the gun kept hanging on chambering the last round. I hate issues but at least I know it's the Magazine.

Then I shot the Glock and it performed flawlessly as expected! The G23 is awesome and is usually my carry pistol.

I then shot a Smith and Wesson Stainless 65-4 that I picked up cheap at an out of the way little gun shop.
This was the first chance I've had to shoot this one. Ooooooo, It is so sweet and i was tickled with happiness. I didn't want to stop shooting but I went through a box of ammo so I knew it was time to wrap it up.
Most of my shots were on target and none were off the pizza box.

So, what are guys up to today?

The GLOCK now has TruGlo TFO night sights not shown, which I absolutely love!!!

Yeah, I probably also need to do my state taxes tonight. Or continue to procrastinate, and do them Saturday night while I wait for 'Eureka Seven' to come on. :dunno: Federal got done in January, since I could e-file for free. Turbotax had me getting back $11 from NC, but wanted to charge $27 to file; the place I tried that the state recommended that both Canti and I qualified for free state filing had me owing $20. So paper forms it is. I just got around to printing them off yesterday (had to search around for a printer that would print the small print legibly, and would print the grey circles and lines where info actually goes), and was too tired to whip out the W-2's, pull up the federal forms, and grab a calculator. I really hope they abolish the state income tax, and it'd be really nice if it went into effect retroactively this year. Federal's enough of a PITA, state really sucks.

Next year check out Taxslayer.com
I've used them for years. My son turned me on to them. They will do active duty military for free.
That's one reason I use them.

Re: Piss Ants

Not sure, but I think it refers to a faint smell they emit when annoyed big time or crushed between fingers. Could also be that they aggravate the piss out of you when they get into your food that's left out, along with the counter tops. They will go unbelievable distances overnight to get at a few drops of water left in a drinking glass in arid country.
We have a couple of sticks of chalk from China which we use to draw a barrier around where they're coming in. It contains some kind of poison, and really works great, even with the large brown sugar ants.

Tax Slayer wanted to charge me for state, but Canti would've been free. They might change the rules next year, so I'll keep an eye on them.

It's 10:30am and time for me to be off work till Monday. Or maybe Tuesday. :)
But, I want to combine 2 pdf files into 1 (before I leave) and can't find the doohicky program here that does that function...

And...just ask the co-worker across my cube wall how to do it...Adobe Pro X has a combine files function!

OK, so, I took the AK out with the Aimpoint Pro.

I had Frog LUbed the AK up early and it shot like a smooth piece of heaven.
I have more ARs than AKs but never underestimate an AK. Especially out to 300 yards.

I was super surprised at the little groups I was getting. The Aimpoint PRO is phenomenol. Not a magnified sight but where ever that little dot is, man it works.

My shots were very low.
I dialed the sight in and took a break to take pics for my NCGO family.

Then I continued,
After all my shots were in the black (1"center), I pulled the Aimpoint off and dialed in the irons a bit.
It was more like I was having fun blasting away like a yahoo wacky Iraqi or something, just having fun.
I was determined to not bring any ammo back to the homefront.

Not a single malfunction
Like I said, don't underestimate a good AK. It is great fun to shoot.
It will put hole between your nipples also so stay away from evil people.
They are simple to operate so if you ever get a chance, shoot one.
Never know when you'll need to pick one up, in a pinch. Hopefully Never.
We as law abiding citizens and legal responsible gun owners know though, never say never.
After all that excitement, I need a nap!
Stay safe my friends :) Peace be with you.

The AK

Enjoying my first cup of coffee in three days. I'm finally feeling a little normal after dealing with what seemed like the worst cold I have ever had. Well, I think it was a cold. I know a few times there I was dealing with a slight fever.

I'm showered, shaved and dressed. Shades are open and sunlight is coming into the house. My daughter has a half-day of school today, so when she gets home this afternoon I might show her how to reload some .45ACP.

Gunny - on a couple of my bicycling forums, we have a "Whatcha Doing" thread....pages & pages.
984 pages at one place (I'm optimized for more posts/page too, 39352 posts as of this morning)
158 pages at another, but it's Edition 5, meaning something went wonky and the thread became corrupted and new one started...

You started a good one. :)

I had to pay for state but was still cheaper than paying someone to do it.
