What are ya'lls opinions on the ideal weight of a tactical shotgun. I weighed my Mossberg 930 set up for 3-gun and it clocks in at 8lbs, 8 ounces. It does have a light, and a mag tube extension and I realize semi-auto shotguns generally weigh more than pumps because there are more parts.
By contrast my Mossberg 500 Cruiser with a 20" barrel weighs in at 6lbs., 7 ounces including the sling. It has a Magpul buttstock and a cordura buttstock shell holder for 5 shotshells and a Ram-Line (remember them) synthetic front stock. The cruiser Mossberg has an 8 shot magazine. Oh and it also has a 590A1 trigger assembly too, which is slightly heavier than the stock plastic one.
I suppose there are trade-offs like a lighter shotgun is faster on target and easier handling however with stiff loads, it kicks more that a shotgun with a little more weight. A heavier shotgun is easier on the shoulder especially with a lot of shooting. Anyway please chime in if you have an opinion or advice.
