I go to the Rowan county Wildlife Association's range just outside of Salisbury. We have rifle, many handgun ranges and shotgun. Shotgun and rifle are open to public. Take a look at https://www.rcwanc.com/ for full details. BTW if someone wants to go I am always looking for any excuse to head to the range and I can bring up to 2 non-members as guests. Just contact me if you are interested

The ONLY portion open to the public is the clay target sports, NOT anything else. Waiting list for membership....

This is the one from the old thread, I don't know who created it or how much it's updated:

That's the full screen version of the map from the NC Wildlife Resources Commission web site.

As far as I know, this is the only range in Salisbury.
I like it, not a member, but have been numerous times.
Since it is an outdoor range, I'd love to be able to use targets other than paper, but rules is rules

Check the location on the map for the Quail Haven Hunting Preserve. It's showing up between Rockwell and China Grove but is nowhere near here. I was excited that there was some unknown range close by. :)

267 Noel Rd, Harmony, NC 28634

Caliber's is a nice indoor range in Greensboro. 15$ for non members to shoot for as long as you'd like. Only drawback is it's pistol calibers only. No bottleneck or steel case ammo allowed, but if your rifle shoots .22LR or .45acp, it's good to go.

They have several pistols under the counter you can try. Pay once for the rental and you can swap it in and out for other pistols of the same caliber.

Hi, new here,
I'd like to go with you sometime and try out the range. I am somewhat familiar with Salisbury. It's not all that far for an
occasional drive. Thanks, David

Are you sure about that? I went there for a USPSA match, which is open to the public through Rowan Practical Shooters, but afterwards I went inside the Wildlife range building and asked if I could sight in my rifle on their range. I was turned away pretty quickly by the guy inside saying the rifle range is for members only and there was a LONG waiting list for new members.

Triple Target Range in Sophia, just south of High Point. Nice place. Pistol, rifle, skeet and archery.
http://tripletargetrange.com/index.html
I go there about every month or so. It is nice. They are doing a lot of work on the place, additions. The only drawback is the road into the place. Kind of rough. But, Good people and fair price. I like it.

Panther Top range outside Murphy

US-64 West toward Copperhill TN.
Turn right on NC-294 toward Hiawassee Dam, and about a mile down is Panther Top road.
Stay on Panther Top until the end, and take the gravel road on the right to the range.
100 yard rifle range, and about 20 yard pistol.

Just tried out Triple Target Range. Excellent people. In fact from 3pm to 4:30 I had the place to myself. Nice to go check
your target without waiting on anyone else. They will let you bring your own targets as well. Just wish it wasn't
a 45 minute ride but I'll take what I can find. I'll be going back next chance I get.
